Did You Know Graham Does Spray Rig Repairs?
Our shop in Douglasville, Georgia, has been turning out long-lasting, high-quality spray equipment and rigs for decades. It’s what we’re known for – and what our customers across Georgia and beyond count on us for. But did you know you can also count on us for topnotch repairs?
Routine Repairs Are Part of Rig Ownership
The experienced crew (the same folks who build Graham rigs) can fix just about any kind of spray equipment, but the most common repairs we do have to do with normal wear and tear of a few particular components: pumps, hoses, and belts.
PUMP REPAIRS
Just like you, the pump on your rig works hard all day, every day. Eventually, the diaphragm will wear out and need to be replaced. This is usually a simple and straightforward fix because we use a kit that includes all the replacement parts for that specific make and model of pump.
Ideally, a worn diaphragm should be replaced before it’s totally shot to prevent damage to the pump. That’s why our shop does it as part of preventative maintenance, along with changing the air filter and oil in the pump and engine. We encourage all of our customers to carve out some time to have this work done during relatively slow periods or when you’re going from a liquid round to a dry round. This way you’re not cutting into your field time.
HOSE REPAIRS
The hose is constantly reeled in and out, dragged through yards and around obstructions, exposed to the sun, and under a great deal of pressure. Sooner or later, brittleness, cracks, leaks – or even a full-out rupture – will happen. There’s really no way to prevent it.
With a rupture, the hose will probably need to be replaced. When we do that work, we have a way of tying and padding it to reduce the likelihood of a future rupture. As for leaks, we’re usually able to fix the problem by splicing in a new section of hose.
BELT REPAIRS
With age and use, the belt could begin to slip or develop dry rot, leading to breakage. This is probably one of the easiest repairs we do. We simply replace the belt, adjust the idler tension, and send you on your way.
Repairs Needed Because Life Happens
Every once in a while, things just don’t go right. Maybe your best tech had an off day and punctured the tank by accidentally backing up into a fence. We’ve seen that and a lot more, like damage to fittings and other components under the bed caused by road debris. All of these types of repairs – while we hope they never become routine for you – are something our shop routinely handles. And we always do our best to get you back in business ASAP.
Going Above and Beyond
Sometimes we see new, young techs bring in older rigs for repairs, and they might not be completely familiar with how to operate the rigs properly. We’ll take the time to walk them through everything, keeping it as clear and simple as possible so that when something comes up again, we’ll be able to talk them through the issue right over the phone.
And then there are customers who aren’t anywhere near our Douglasville shop. Whenever possible, we’ll guide them through troubleshooting and repairs by phone. It’s just part of the service that comes with owning a Graham rig.
Whether you’re around the corner or across the country, you can count on us for parts, repairs, and support that keep you and your Graham spray rig out working in the field.
