Welder and Fabricating Position – Douglasville, GA

Job Title: Welder/ Fabricator

Schedule: Monday – Friday – approximately 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Starting wage: $19/hr

Location: Douglasville, GA

Qualifications:

  • Candidates are required to pass a drug screening and background check before beginning employment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Must be able to MIG weld Steel and Aluminum.
  • Must be able to use a square.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must have 1 year of aluminum welding experience.
  • Familiar with the use of a metal break, iron worker, and shear.
  • Must be physically capable of repetitive lifting, standing entire shift, bending at waist and knees, and twisting to perform job duties.
  • Stand all day and lift 75 lbs. as needed.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, welding machines, grinders, and saws.
  • Must be able to comply with safety awareness and regulations.
  • Effective verbal communication and shop skills.

Job Duties

  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG) aluminum spool gun and steel welding experience required.
  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG) Steel experience required.
  • Must be punctual and have a dependable work ethic.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentage, interpret bar graphs. Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
